Experiment Instructions
In this task, you will be watching videos of people playing a simple physics game: Objects are hidden inside of a box and then participants are told to shake the box to try to figure out what is inside. The game consists of two rounds:
One round is called the number round. In the number round, the box contains some number of objects (15, 20 or 25), all of the same size, and participants must guess what that number is.
The other round is called the shape round. In that round, the box contains some number of objects, all of a certain shape (cubes, cylinders or spheres), and participants must guess what that shape is.
For example, let's say the box had 20 cubes in it. That would look like this:

If someone shook this box in the number round, the correct answer would be 20. If someone shook this box in the shape round, the correct answer would be cubes.
Here’s where your job comes in. On each trial, you will see videos of a participant playing one of each round of the game. Your goal is to figure out which round is which. In other words, you will pick out which videos show someone trying to guess the number of objects inside the box, and which videos show someone trying to guess the shape of an object inside the box.
